About Cel Kulasekaran

"So what in the world is all this?"

This is my creative space and personal home on the internet. The main portion of the site exhibits my photographs, inks, and pencil illustrations. Some music recordings and videos are also distributed here. You may find small descriptive portions of my professional interest in mathematics and the sciences, but are limited due to compliance and sensitivity considerations. I have been online since 1994 when Webcrawler was the search engine of choice, and am partial to the Amiga-demo scene.

Photographs

I enjoy using the Nikon D70s SLR camera and the Nikon FE film body with various Nikkor lenses, a speedlight, and a Holga medium format film camera. More information about this relatively new hobby on Flickr. All photographs selected here are a smaller subset of what's actually archived there.

You may now also choose to purchase prints of select photographs. Please see my gallery at imagekind.

Inks and Pencils

I've been using the same Faber-Castell pencils of varying grades (7H - 8B) since high-school. My favourites are in the grade range of 2H - 3B. I also use Faber-Castell black PITT (indian-inks) graphic pens and occasionally the Sharpie markers to cover larger areas. I average about 4-hours on an illustration and enjoy listening to music in the process.

Music: Guitars and Keyboards

Being lost in the spontaneity of a jamm-session and appreciating music theory is something I find rewarding. I enjoy playing my first electric guitar (Fernandes AFR '95) on the recordings, but occasionally indulge in an Ibanez SA 420X. Performing with the Korg Karma is also quite enjoyable although sequencing on it is a complete hell (manual-step). Most of my older recordings were sequenced using Fast Tracker II, and I currently use Digitech's GNX4 as my main workstation.

Cel Kulasekaran

A good portion of my living hours is devoted to a career in quantitative investment management. I enjoy solving numerical puzzles and appreciate elegant programming solutions. The game of Go / Baduk, and a band project are some of the things that I find hard to reinitiate given the variety of interesting things that currently keep me occupied.
